Crossing the Divide

I have not yet reached Destruction Bay. This has been a long and perilous journey by bike. I decided to change my route and go through Banff to see Lake Louise. This has also led to more stops. :)

Banff is such a beautiful place. Because of the low snow year the lake was not iced over and it's shimmering teal waters lit up like in all of the pictures. I camped out here for a few days and explored some of the trails that traverse up to the continents only triple continental divide. The water here flows to the Arctic, Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.

I did have the opportunity to meet one of the rangers from Banff National Park for an amazing tour of the park. We explored an area where the glaciers are rapidly retreating. It was amazing to see this amazing scenery. However I could not stay for long. I have now reached Whitehorse in the Yukon. It is cold up here!!! I had to break out my Canada Goose down to brave the extreme temps.

Whitehorse is an interesting but sad place. This town sits in a desolate landscape on the edge of one of the worlds last vast wilderness areas. However due to its remoteness many of the towns residents occupy their time through crime and drugs. This is a sad reality in towns like these. I will be writing more soon. Thanks for following me!
