Helping Nepal
The last 2 weeks have been difficult following the Nepal tragedy. However I am taking some time to help these amazing people though dark times. As many of you know the roughly 2 weeks ago Nepal was struck by a massive 7.8 earthquake. This devastating quake affected many of my friends overseas. several were injured as the city of Kathmandu rose 3 feet. I can't even begin to imagine an entire city rising several feet. Out of the bad always comes good.A friend and fellow biker told me about his fund to help the sherpas who were some of the hardest hit. I have provided a link to his non profit fund the Wasatch Mountain Arts Nepal Disaster Relief Fund
.
My first thought when I heard a bout the devastation was to want to buy a ticket and go help dig people out of the rubble. However I quickly found out from my friend that this is not what was most needed. since so many lost their homes there is a real issue of people out on the streets. Most of them lack the ability to keep warm. So I thought to myself why not send large amounts of warm fabric over there. Then I realized that fleece fabric was cheap and warm. So I started buying and sending over this material to Nepal. I'm happy that I have been able to help those affected by this tragedy.
BTW I am now in Anchorage and loving it! The beer Is cold and so is the air!!
