A few days with friends in Krakow, a great chance to look around the city and have a home for a few days to recuperate a bit. Well looked after by our hosts.

On the roadroad again today to Slovakia, country number 5. Traffic leaving Krakow is horrendous, I think they've dug the whole country up, and it's mid 30s Celsius. We ditch our original plan of a stop in Zakopane and head straight for Slovakia and the mountains. The Tatra mountains are spectacular and we manage a stop at what is a ski station in winter.

Up high it's a bit cooler, a blessed relief. As we drop down again the heat builds and we're sweating buckets by the time we see Spis castle on the horizon, next to our stop for the night in a converted monastery
