Moscow and Mongolia

A trip round Red Square and photos of all the sights fills our day while we get processed by the Mongolian Embassy.

The metro takes us easily to nearby the Embassy and the the metro stations and just as grand as St. Petersburg! If you find yourself in Moscow, make sure you use the metro and take a camera.

Moscow is hot and dusty. The drivers are simply suicidal and we see 6 accidents in the day as we ride to Moscow. The GPS gets us to a simple old Soviet hotel that is near a Metro station and so we can leave the bike behind.

Navigation is easy as there are helpful signs like this on the platform walls the other side of the tracks.

The stations have signs placed just above the windows of the trains. We were helped by a lovely Moscovite who agreed that it was like playing chess.

We are heading off to the Mongolian Embassy to get our visas as the visa starts as soon as you hand over the money. So no point in getting it in London.

We hand over our US Dollars and the next day delivers our Visa for Mongolia.

Our next destination is East out of the heat or Moscow and off over the Urals.
