It's cold, flat and empty for miles and miles every day.It's cold. I don't know what I was expecting but a little bit warmer than this for sure. It is nearly June and the wind from the North is very cold.

We have been in Siberia ever since we climbed the Urals and headed out East.
That was last week. So 7 days of riding and no hills just endless plains.

The road is about a meter above the water table and so either side there are ponds and swamps - for miles in every direction. Where the land is a little higher than the water, villages have sprung up.
Soon we will be at Baikal and the mountains. For the moment now we are understanding more about the Russian steppes. Vast flat plains that are cold and windswept.
