Russians
are generous and warm-hearted. The philosopher Sting wrote,"the Russians love their children too".Countless times we have been treated with unbelievable hospitality.
Stoppie the bike genius drove us round town to find scarce parts, we met his Mum and his lovely dog Chedder.
When we broke down in Novosibirsk (that is the town in the middle of Russia) the hotel receptionists rang around and found "Stoppie" a motorcycle mechanic. The next day they drove us round the City to find parts and then escorted the repaired bike 30 km in the dark, cold and rain so we were safe in our hotel that night.
They are wonderful people.
In Torzhok we were befriended by the 'Night Wolves" who invited us to their Sunday Evening get together with a barbecue and beer. The next day they too escorted to the correct road and presented us with a lovely book about Lake Baikal. Also the emblematic orange and black ribbon that Sam wears came from them with the Night wolves sticker for the bike.
In Ninhny Novgorod we were greeted by a biker stranger who invited us back to his place to stay the night. Serg and Galina were wonderful hosts and cooked a lovely meal for us. They even have a swimming pool, Ford Mustang and a Harley Davidson.
Russians have made is very welcome so many times. We are very fortunate to have so many new friends.
