Well here i am sat in a wood in the Alps Italy, Trying to type while being eaten by many small beasties, Rocket is asleep near a small campfire, he wants to retire to the tent but his job is to watch out for bigger beasts.
I will try to get up to date, as fast as my finger will let me! and till the battery gets low.
The first part of our trip took us to the euro-tunnel, Rocket was the first dog to travel by bike on the train we where told. Getting on the train was fairly easy and quick. Once on board ROCKET (as per normal) became a star, photos, photos, its a dogs life. once off the train it was straight to he motorway towards Reims. The weather was not to bad to start with, a bit windy and chilly. Our first stop for fuel was like a hole in the wall, good job i had a card as i had to use these petrol stations a few times. Onward we rode the weather getting worse rain and wind and dark. I got to Reims about 11-30 a bit pissed off with the rain, so started to try and find a hotel, icame across about three of them on a ind estate. got a room for the night no problem dogs allowed, free!. Room it was more like a cell, double bed for short people,toilet, washroom,shower all in a cubicle. i did not sleeep to much( still riding my bike!!.) l lay watchingTele for awhile, a progam about 2CVs very good, such good little cars too. then a bit of sleep.
I was up and about at nine and decided to have some food, the night before had just been cakes and coffee form a vending machine. The breakfast was not to bad self service buffet eat all you can for 4euros (81p=1 euro),Coffe cornflakes, breads,butter, jams,cake ,orange juice that sort of thing.
Bike reloaded, off we go to a bikers hotel 50kms south of Poiters, called Route 66. My sat-nav took me via Main roads not toll roads. as it was getting near food time i was lookiing out for a truckers cafe/restarant, i found one which looked promising, parked the bike sat Rocket outside while i checked if he was allowed in ?
TBC the bugs and wildlife (Deer or wild pigs they make a lot of noise) are driving me mad so its bed time Nite-Nite
