Update

The next morning the sun had made an early start and it was starting to become a bit warmer. Mick and Rocket had been sat watching some red squirrels jumping about in the fir trees while I made a brew and breakfast.
As it was a bit warmer we decided to wear our lighter off-road trousers, hoping as we travel south it must get warmer.
We set off back down the route national heading south. We passed through small towns and villages. The weather was a mix of warm, chilly and a bit of drizzle. Lunch was taken on the banks off a river, tea and sandwiches and watching the world go bye.
As we travelled on we started to see signs stating that some of the roads would be closed during the next few days as the “Tour de France” was heading this way. I had been watching it on TV before we left home as I do have interest in the cycle race.
We had a fuel stop in Issoudun and came across some of the races support trucks. The tour stage the next day was to end here having started in Limoges 195-5kms away The next day was also Bastille Day a public holiday. The weather was getting hotter too, poor old Rocket just wanted to be in the shade when we stopped. Once we had fuelled up and had a nosy around the back up trucks we continued with the journey. As soon as we left the town both sides of the road had been turned into one massive party site, camper vans tents and cars were parked on any space that could be found on the roadside, all with flags and bunting hung out ready for the next day’s stage of the Tour. People were all in high sprits waving flags and blowing horns as we passed by. After a few miles we pulled in to a small village to take some photos, as it was decked out with flags and posters for the race, very colourful too. I then suggested to
Mick that we should ride back to Issoudun buy some supplies then find a spot to camp and stop over to watch the race the next day, to which he agreed. We turned around and set off for a Supermarket on our way we did notice one field which was being used by the French 2CV club.
Shopping done we headed back down the road stopping en route for a cold drink, and deciding to call into the 2CV club to see if we would be able to camp in their field.
