INTO THE VALLEY.

As time was beating us it was decided to postpone the Italian Job and go down the mountain and explore the valley we had passed on the way up.
After leaving the main road we headed up the valley on a tarmac track. After a mile or so we came into a small hamlet, Mick and Dave needed a fag and i a coffee. We were soon sat outside a hotel in the sun sipping coffee and just taking in our surroundings. All around the sound of cow-bells echoing through the mountains each side of us, making a kind of music. If Mick had only brought his Mandolin! The cows were grazing all along the valley as far as we could see, there was a mobile milking parlour too. Coffee drunk Rocket watered it was time for Mick to put, his now dry socks on, then a look around the few shops selling local produce and gifts. There was a very small church with room for about twenty souls to pray. Back on the bikes Mick in the lead with Rocket and i riding shotgun at the rear. The track narrowed down to one way in places, a sheer drop on one side with a long drop with no barriers to a raging river, keep left was the way. The other two rode off as i slowed to take in the views and stopped to take the odd photo. As i came around a bend the two carrot crunchers were heading across a field in pursuit of some type of wild animal! By the time i had caught up with them they were sat puffing on a rock, Rocket in the meantime had switched on to full Jack Russell hunter mode and was trying to dig into a burrow. The animal in question was a Marmet, see photo, but we had scared the critters off and made our way back to the bikes, much to Rockets disgust.
