Update
We pulled on to the 2cvers field and were greeted like long lost brothers. A glass of wine was passed to us both and after finding someone who spoke English we were invited to camp any where on the field, and once we had got ourselves sorted to come back to their area, which was well sorted, tables, chairs a couple of large Tents, electrics, food drink they had the lot.
We decided to camp near the far end of the field and rode off to have a look. The field was a bit rough in places so a steady ride was called for, also we were loaded with extra food wine and loads of water. A good spot was found we set up our camp, besides our tents we had a home made awning to cook under and provide some cover from the elements. Rocket in the mean time was away digging holes.
Once set up we cooked some food which we washed down with some French cider. After the pots and pans were washed up, we moved our bikes to the edge of the road and dressed them with some British flags. All done and dusted we set off up the field to meet the2cvers. The weather was changing, the wind was getting up and the clouds turning darker.
Upon our arrival at camp 2cv, after much hand shaking and cheek kissing we were sat at a table with a drink and as a few of them spoke very good English we were able to have a good chat about cycles,2cvs motor bikes and much more. After a while Rocket started to play up, growling and just being a mardy! Dog. ( it was past his bed time) So I took him back to the tent and put him to bed. As it was looking like rain I made sure all our gear was undercover, picked up my jacket and Micks Whisky, and went back to the Party. I arrived back just in time as it started to rain complete with thunder and lightening. Mick was soon singing and playing the spoons much to everyones delight. The whisky was passed around and drunk by nearly every one, with the story that it was a rare Scottish brand bought in Scotland, which did impress the folks. The truth being that Mick had got it from the local Lidal, naughty boy Mick. After a really good night and a bit worse for wear myself and Mick staggered off to our beds and the sleep of the dead.
