ITALY TO SWITZERLAND

The next morning with the sun shining, breakfast, gear packed and BM loaded, sat-nav set, Rocket sorted it was time to get rolling.
A few thoughts about the rally and Italy so far. The people very friendly and helpful. The bikes all very well turned out and so clean. Food top marks for price and quality. The weather was hot and sunny. A excellent time had by all.
Back on the road, i decided to use the autostrada (mostly tolls) as the A roads were very busy and at times getting through towns can be a nightmare! At our first stop I turned up the sleeves of my Jacket, rolled up my trews and loosened my boots to try and get a bit of cooler air to my hot sweaty body. This was to be come to norm during the next few weeks. Soon we were off the motorway heading up the mountain passes and into Switzerland. We rode through the border with no problems. I was worried in case the Swiss would not be to happy about Rocket being on the bike, no worries! After a few more mountains time was getting on i needed to find a camping place. As we rode out of one village i pulled over to a small Pizza place for a coffee. The young couple running the place spoke good English and were impressed with Rocket on the bike. a
After a drink I asked about camping, as luck would have it I was only about 500 metres up the road great!. I said I would return later for a meal and set off for the camp-site. The camp-site found payment made etc, I found good spot and got myself sorted. The site was not to large but consisted of a bar, restaurant, wash rooms and a open air swimming pool. It was a bit to chilly here in the mountains for a swim. Everything ship shape we took a stroll back to the Pizza place. As we were in the Italian part of Switzerland I ordered the pizza which was excellent. After the meal we strolled back to our tent, Rocket dived into bed while I headed to the bar for a beer and watched some football on T.V. before going to join Rocket.
