BYE BYE FRANCE
After all the Shims had gone on their way i spent a day exploring some of the Alps. Then i had to start getting gear together ready for our next move. We were to head over the alps to Italy for another motorcycle Rally. I was to ride ahead and Julie, Alison, and Crag were to join me at the Rally on the Saturday.
On the morning of my departure the weather was very hot not a cloud in sight. Sad to go but i will be back to Bourg st Maurice. The route i was to take would be a old lorry drivers route used as a way of getting in to Italy with out using the Tunnels and avoiding the Tolls. The road is now closed to HGV's. The pass is over Mount Cenis. First of all i had to go over the Col de I'Isern, WOW what a pass, very tight bends a lot of drops with no barriers and a fully laden bm, i was twitching a few times. Once again the views are stunning i did not manage to get any pic's as it was to dodgy to stop. Coming down i found a good spot near a stream to stop and have a picnic and take in the mountain air Great.
