Update
Hi everyone. We left Fort Morgan, CO, today. I made it really interesting. It was 38 degrees and foggy. The fog was as thick as rain and cold. Stopped at MacDonalds and added layers. Waved to Jim Boone on highway 34. Got near Last Chance and needed fuel. Of course they don't have any. NOTE TO MYSELF: Remember the sign outside Brush that says, "No Fuel for 75 miles." I tried to do it with l 1/2 gallons of fuel. ANOTHER NOTE TO MYSELF: What a dummy!!!!!
Got 10 miles from Last Chance and headed back to Brush. Lynn contacted me over the two way radio. I could hear her clearly. "Hey stupid what are we doing." Went back to Brush (30 miles) in 38 degree, foggy, and now windy weather with the gas light blinking. NOTE TO MYSELF: Put fuel in spare fuel containers that you so cleaverly attached to your bike.
Fueled up, added another layer, and headed back to Limon in 40 degree, foggy, and windy cold weather. In Limon the wind really picked up. I guess that is why they have those big wind generators near Lamar. We made it to Dumas, Texas-400 miles the long way. Skyped Renee and it worked great. Spent one hour with Dana trying to upload one lousy photo. Thanks to Dana's, I finally got it. I am exhausted.
Our next overnight will be: 1) Sept 26-Mineral Wells (near Fort Worth); 2) Sept 27-San Antonio; 3) Sept 28 & 29-Corpus Christi; 4) Sept 30-Brownsville and then the next day cross the border. I think I will go to the hot tub. Bye for now.
