The Ridge of Death. We didn’t realize that CA-1 runs through the 4th ranked deadliest road in the world.

75 miles of twisty mountain roads with a high volume of truck traffic. The road reached over 10,000 feet!!! It went from 90 degree sultry weather to freezing. The rain can best be described as a “a cow peeing on a flat rock.” It went on for hours. We reached our destination at dusk.
The road to Fred's Place was straight up and twisty composed of dirt, rocks, and wet mud. Lynn didn’t take any pictures out of fear.
We found Fred’s Place well hidden. He and his wife, Ellie, were great hosts.

He has spent much time in Central America. He flies back and forth from Washington state where he owns a construction business. This is his back yard.

We were about a mile from the beach. It was miles of nice beach and nobody using it.
