Update
We are A OK. We stayed at La Motte B &B, a bikers B&B in Virey, France. The B & B is nicely located near Mont Saint Michel and Normandy Beach. We had a great time in this quiet and secluded B&B. It was full of bikers from England and Northern Ireland. We ate together and then adjourned to the bar each evening. Carol cooked a great dinner each evening. Here are some shots from La Motte. It is run by Bob and Carol Smith. They are from England and love biking. They have been there 6 years and have done extensive renovations of the old chateau.
It rained to beat the band. The wind blew and it even hailed on us. We were not able to get in Normandy Beach. However, on our return trip from England, we will visit the memorials in the area. It is something, according to all that visit, you cant miss.
This is Ali and James from Belfast, Northern Ireland. They cooked a great dinner for us at the B&B. We hope to see them in Belfast next year.
We then headed to Mont Saint Michel. Remember this Marsha? You must know when high tide comes in. Otherwise, you vehicle will disappear into the ocean.
It is quite a climb in the rain to the Abbey. Inside the walls is a small medieval city. The Abbey was started in 1000 AD. At one time it housed prisoners that were subjected to torture. What else can you do with a prisoner?
We are currently aboard the car ferry (June 18). It has great facilities. We will be in Portsmouth, England, at 1:30 pm (local time), and head to Oxford. We will be staying at Croughton Royal Air Force Base. It is located about 20 miles northeast of Oxford. See you later.
Good Morning Colorado!
