Update

Well it is time to catch up. Our access to the internet has been hit and miss. Remember we may not be able to update the blog as frequently as we want. However, family we will get one of you a message as frequently as we can. If we do that, update the others by email. On October 3rd, We were in Tampico. It is a large city on the Gulf of Mexico, about 350,000 people. We went to church. They were having a special mass celebrating a 15th birthday. Dad had money. She had a lock on looks. Her boyfriend had a 2009 427 Camaro. I got to have one. While that was going on, a man next to me was on his knees praying to a large statute of the crucified Christ. He was a hard worker. Face was weather beatened and his hands had seen alot of labor. I know he just wanted another day of work for food and shelter. It was a difficult contrast to watch without having some strong feelings. I wanted to give him the money we were going to
put in the collection, however, he was gone.

We continued our trip the next day to Tecolutla. This is a beach town. We did some swimming. We had a great dinner of seafood soup. Loaded with crabs, shrimp, octopus, fish and rice. We then watched, believe it or not, the Denver Broncos beat Dallas.
We then headed to Veracruz for a two day rest. Stayed at an expensive hotel on the zocalo. It is the largest seaport city in Mexico. It has a significant history from the Indians, Cortez, and an American invasion. We could not pass up this future naval officer. His mother gave us permission to photograph him.

We ate every night at one of these out door places next to the zocalo. Dining on seafood is fun.

Lastly, this is a panoramic view of the Veracruz seaport.

Larry asked us if we were having fun. We can't describe this kind of ride as fun. It is a journey, and a tough one at that. My dad had a saying, as Renee will recall-"If I was 10 years younger I would do that." I don't want to have to say that. Lynn makes it special and keeps me going. Good night everyone.
