Loskop Dam
Woke up to a pleasant 26 degrees at 7 oclock so decided to spend another day here sitting by the water watching hippos, crocodiles and some two foot lizards amongst other things.
My wet neighbour.
By mid-day it had got to 33 degrees and I decided to go shopping and set of for the supermarket some 30 km away.
My Campsite, 3 best things in the world, bike, tent and sunshine.
Pleasant ride down potholed roads to the shops. Headed back in a big loop via Groblarsdal and learnt two new things about riding. The view is great but when you hit a pot hole it improves as rise up towards the handle bars, knees gripping the tank arms fully extended, then gets worse as you sit on the tank rapidly causing bad pain in the unmentionables.
Pulled over, no apparent damage to bike but breathing and pulse very rapid so had a bottle of milkshakes (banana) and carried on watching the road and playing a new game, swerving about (no squared off tyres here) around pot holes. Got back after another 20km of long slow lazy bends through the mountains for more sleep, tunes and sun in a lovely 36 degrees with a slight breeze.
One final note for the day guess what packed up at the entrance to the site, Garmin. Checked it out, volts at cradle so plugged it into computer and no response. Guess it is back to Garmin when I get near Joburg again. Anyone want to pre warn them I am coming feel free as extremely miffed with them and their products. Was only turning a corner at the time.
Off for Lyndenburg tomorrow, hope I can find the way using a map down the back roads.
