Wednesday the 25th

Another terrible day on the Harley in the sun rolling along.Wednesday, horrible day today, sun was shining, it was hot and I rode over 400 miles, bike is just fantastic.

Amazing country, if a yellow school bus stops you are not allowed to overtake it, you sit and wait until the driver see’s the children are safe, they pull in the stop sign and move off and then you can proceed. Outside schools a speed limit of 15mph is enforced when children are coming or going and all cell phone usage is banned along with parking for quite a distance. NO ONE BREAKS THE RULES, the children come first.

Any way left real early as it is not nice riding in the heat so up at 5 and off at 6.

Not all USA roads are long and straight and the country really is vast.

Had a really good day on the bike riding across to pick up route 66. Bit of a disappointment when I found it. Rode into Tucumacari, following old route, yuk it was derelict, falling down and really bad. Lot of the route follows freeway but can not be ridden. Turned off onto another signed bit and total difference, Moriarty a great little place, diner, motel and route 66 signs everywhere, taking full advantage of people like me. So I stopped and booked a room and had some food.

Lady gave me room and told me to park the bike outside it in the corridor as it was at the end no one would go near it. Great understanding these people.

Guess all I need to do is talk to someone about the best bits.
