Memphis
Sunday 17th May
Thankfully the storm had finished by the time we got on the road, but it still looked like it might start again any time, it was too warm for waterproofs so we set off without them for now, we had a great ride on a mix of twisty roads, unpaved roads and a bit of the boring straight roads. We did have to stop at one point to get the waterproofs on and a few miles down the road we had to stop and take them off? We carried on past our intended stopping point as we were enjoying the ride and felt the closer we were to Memphis meant an easy ride tomorrow especially if the weather took a turn for the worse.
Monday 18th May
Storm again in the night and we had the same sort of ride conditions today as yesterday, waterproofs on waterproofs off, it's so hot either way your going to get wet. But still an enjoyable ride. It's quite an amazing difference from the west coast, Nevada, Texas and Arizona. They have their drought with dried up river beds and low water levels in their lakes and reservoirs to Oklahoma, Arkansas and Tennessee with their reservoirs and lakes full, their rivers bursting their banks. Water everywhere you look and hot as well. We were both quite surprised by the amount of paddy fields in Arkansas miles and miles of them, always tend to associate rice growing with Asia not America. We are now in Memphis Tennessee and have bought tickets for the Graceland tour tomorrow.
Tuesday 19th May
