Sunday 6th Dec
Got up early and weather looked good so popped down to the town to see if the Helicopter Flights were running, they were but they could not guarantee  landings at the top of the glacier but would not reduce the price if they could not land so I decided not to take the flight way to expensive just for a few minutes in a helicopter. Went back to my room and loaded the bike then back in to town for breakfast before heading off to meet Darryl who I met at the magpie and his wife. As it was sunny I rode back to Fox glacier to see if any of it was visible as when I rode in it was covered by clouds but today it was quite picturesque, then I turned back and rode through Franz Joseph and on to Hokitika. Another good days riding on great roads a tad chilli despite the sun. Arrived round about 4 and Met Darryl and then set off for the Hokitika Gorge. Then back to meet his Mrs and some home cooked food and a few beers. Darryl is also interested in riding the Rainbow and Molesworth station trails, I'm trying to get hold of Craig in Oamaru who is planning on going me to ride these trails.
