Rain stops play
Country

Monday 23rd Nov.
Sadly the curry house was fully booked last night, so I wandered around for a while and ended up in a Thai restaurant. More than a bit disappointing.

Got up to a sunny and windy day, certainly not as cold as it has been. Leaving Wanaka Heading for Milford Sound today via Queenstown. Just outside Queenstown I stopped off at the Shotover for a bit of fun on a jet boat.

The ride to the Shot Over was just fantastic all the way the road was reasonably sheltered from the winds and super twisty and at times even more so scraping the panniers out now and then. Especially the last bit was just fantastic. I was planning on stopping in Queenstown for a day or so but the weather forecast was not good from tomorrow onwards so after the Jet boat ride I made a dash for Milford sound the first 60 miles were excellent a few camper vans to pass every now and then but still good fun about 40 miles before Te Anau the roads flatten and straighten out and the wind increased and made the going hard work and then about 15 miles out the rain started. I was planning on stopping for a late lunch / early dinner before heading on to Milford but as it was no longer fun riding in this wind and rain I decided to stop hear at Te Anau and try and find somewhere cheap to stay, Luckily I found a cheapish room at one of the Holiday camps and booked my self in for 2 nights here and a cruise around Milford Sound via a coach.
