Nepal Summary

"You come to Nepal for the mountains, but you come back to the people"
quoted from the Lonely Planet

What mountains are concerned Lonely Planet is completely right: the views are incredible, like paintings on a wall. Here you can truly speak of untouched nature.
As far as the population is concerned, we disagree. People stare at you unabashedly and they can sustain this for hours without smiling, which we noticed this first-hand. In addition, the population (men, women and children) have the nauseating habit of spitting with a throat scraping sound: disgusting, especially when you're eating. We are not saying the Nepali were unfriendly, but we would never travel to Nepal to spend time with them, which is suggested by Lonely Planet.
We started our trip in Nepal in the West. This is the least developed part of Nepal. Here is only one dish available which is served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Not bad but it takes a while to get used to it. Four months later, when leaving India, we actually kind of liked it. Sometimes you could have an additional portion of chicken which is full of bones and fat so is not really advisable.
Once in the more touristy areas, we felt more welcome. People didn’t stare anymore, and the food was much more varied.
The number of animals we have seen in the wild are worth mentioning: Foxes - a lynx - crocodiles - wild deer – big wild boars - otters - weasels - a snake - a white striped spider - termite mounds and the most beautiful of all were the fireflies that swirled around our heads.
Nepal is also extremely cheap here, we usually paid 10 euro for dinner, bed and breakfast for 2 persons!

Nepal is a beautiful country with untold mountains, snowy peaks, valleys, rivers, waterfalls, villages and wildlife. We really enjoyed our time here and we will definitely return here…for the nature
