Back In Bali
Arrived in Denpasar we go to our hotel to drop off our luggage and to take a shower. Hereafter we go to the BIMC Hospital, internationally known as a better hospital in Bali. The doctor tells us that the wound isnt looking too bad but gives us an antibiotic injection and new medicines. The next few days we return to the hospital for further care. At the end of the week the doctor decides we dont have to come back and the hospital provides us with all the materials to clean our wounds ourselves.
On Tuesday, October 16th, ANL mails us that our bike has arrived in Darwin. They mention it will take at least until Friday before our bike is released so we decide to wait until Sunday to go to Darwin. Because of our injuries we are not yet ready to travel in Australia and we want to spend the holidays in Indonesia. Kevin decides to fly alone and get the bike out of the harbour. Anyway, he must have been in Australia before December 27th, or his Australian visa will expire. He has three days to get the bike out of the harbor and fly back to Bali to celebrate Christmas together with Kitty. A bit optimistic but worth trying. Kevin is looking on Horizons Unlimited, a site for travellers on a motorcycle, for a place to park the bike as he goes back to Bali. It doesnt take long before we are contacted by Dave, a motorcycle rider who lives near Darwin. He offers a parking space but also a place to sleep.
As Kitty stays longer than anticipated in Indonesia, she must renew her visa. Because of the holidays this takes much longer than normal and the immigration officer says it will take two weeks. All this time, Kitty wouldnt have her passport so she cant fly to Australia in case Kevin cant get the bike out of the harbour on time. Fortunately, there is still a seat available on the plane so we fly together and we will spend the holidays in Australia.
