Denpasar

In the morning, we wake up early and on arrival at the pier we, once again, can straight drive on the ferry. While sailing, we search for a hotel in Bali on our app. We see a cheap hotel with very good reviews which is located in the capital Denpasar. It seems like a good base for further exploration of Bali. From the boat we see several volcanoes, something you don’t see every day ...

When we leave the ferry, we immediately see the beauty of Bali. The island is much more colourful than the rest of Asia, or at least what we have seen of it, because of the many flowers and many decorations that can be seen in the streets. It’s a few hours’ drive to Denpasar but we enjoy it very much. It's a little crowded, but that is because we are driving on the main road.
Upon arrival at Denpasar we see that we have chosen a good hotel. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished, the people are extremely friendly and there is also a small swimming pool. Moreover, the motorbike can be parked completely out of sight from the street. We think this would be the ideal place to leave Mickey when we go back to Belgium.

On the Way to Denpasar

Denpasar in itself is nothing, but that happens a lot with capitals. However, it was the perfect place to go to the most famous beach in Bali: Kota. We saw on the internet that the hotels are very expensive here. The beach itself is very large and there are a lot of tourists. The town bursts with liveliness and we soon understand why it is so popular. In the evening we look for a nice restaurant with some western food, but the prices are very high. In many restaurants they charge about the same price as with us, which, in a country as poor as Indonesia, is really incomprehensible. We go eat at McDonalds and return to our hotel.
