Laos - Cambodia
In the morning we leave to the border with Cambodia. The border post seems closed at first sight, maybe it isnt open because its Sunday? We come closer and see somebody sitting in the immigration office. He doesnt want to stamp our passports because hes not sure if Cambodia will allow us in with a big bike. He says we have to check first at Cambodian side. We had never heard of Cambodia making problems of big bikes, besides we know Christian is driving around there with his Africa Twin. The Cambodian customs says we are allowed in if we have a Carnet De Passage, which we have, so no problem. However, we had heard we wouldnt need our Carnet in Cambodia.
Back to the Laotian side our passports get stamped without any problems. We do have to pay a small surcharge because its Sunday. We have to turn back because we had already passed customs a few miles ago. For the rest, the border crossing goes very smoothly. It surely is one of the fastest border crossings weve had so far.
