Thailand - Malaysia

On the way to the border, we find ourselves driving through the real Muslim area of Thailand, we see hardly any women without headscarves. The Muslims are all dressed at their best, because today is the Eid Al-Fitr (end of Ramadan). It’s because of this holiday that we can’t cross this border today. We can leave Thailand but the ferry that has to bring Mickey across the river doesn’t sail today, so we drive to the next border crossing. The border crossing in Rantau Panjang goes very smoothly. For Malaysia, we don’t need a visa, they just stamp our passports after scanning them and taking our finger prints. Fortunately, this border crossing is as smooth as it is because it’s already quite late and moreover, we have to wind the clock an hour ahead in Malaysia.
