Luang Prabang
At dusk we arrive at Luang Prabang and we find a hotel in a pleasant street close to the centre. Luang Prabang is a World Heritage Site due to its colonial past. This past is very visible in the architecture. There are also many temples and a lively night market, mainly for souvenirs.

We also have some work on the bike. We want to repair the service stand, which has been damaged since Nepal. We go to a local blacksmith and with the help of these friendly Laotians, we get the job done. We have to say that the working people in each country have proven to be the friendliest ones. By way of gratuity we buy them a beer and they are very happy.
But definitely the highlight here is the Kuang Si Waterfall, about 30 km outside the city. The clear blue water falls from very high and continues its way through many pools.

In some of these pools, we are allowed to swim and we also get a free foot spa (these fish eat your dead skin cells). You pay 3 euro for 10min in a spa, but here these fish are swimming freely .The surrounding jungle makes it picture-perfect. Theres also a bear sanctuary here which is nice to see. We paid 2 euro entrance fee for a whole afternoon of pleasure.
