In the morning we enjoy our last self-made delicious breakfast and then we are ready to drive to Mamallapuram. At first we want to skip this town because of the short distance from Auroville, where we wasted quite some time. We are glad we didn’t choose a long day drive because Mamallapuram is worth visiting. We find a nice room with a fisherman, located on the beach and with a balcony offering sea view.

Beachfront Guesthouses

The village itself is very cosy and is really different from other places in India. There is also a pleasant park which has many boulders and nice temples, a bit like a mini-Hampi.

There are also some temples outside the park which are worthwhile visiting. There's a dance festival going on so we go and take a look.
