Koh Yao Noi

We now have about week for our moms to arrive. On the travel-app, we see a small island near Phuket where there are some hotels. After some research it appears not to be very touristic, offering coves and quiet beaches. We can’t take Mickey but we can’t leave him at the hotel as well so we decide to drive to the pier and look for a parking spot there. When we arrive at the pier, we see that we have to pay half a euro to go on the pier. Of course, all the Thai people just drive by, it’s again "only foreigners". There is a secure, roofed parking at the pier so that's solved.
In no time, we exit the boat on Koh Yao Noi.

Now, we have yet to go to the other side of the island. We heard about a nice beach with a few small hotels. The weather is good today, so we decide to walk. Three hours later we arrive at Haad Tha Kao, a beautiful beach, located in a large bay. At the horizon we see many small islands, a really nice place here.

It's not cheap to stay here, but we find a nice bungalow at an affordable price. From the two hammocks on our balcony we can see the beach and the sea. On the island there is indeed nothing to do, just a few small hotels with an occasional restaurant. What you do get to see is the Thai just living his life, you see the fishermen at work on the beautiful beaches, but you will mostly find peace and quiet here. There is almost no traffic so the island is perfect for renting a scooter or a bicycle.

We stay here for only two nights and we enjoy the beach and our hammocks.
After two days of doing nothing, it's time to return to Khao Lak. Our moms will be here in a few days, so we go to Phuket to pick up Mickey and drive to Khao Lak.
