Johor Bahru

We get off the bus and queue at immigration to enter Malaysia. It’ really nice how easy it is for us to go in and out of Malaysia so smoothly without any paperwork in advance.

Immigration at Johor Bahru

After our trip in Singapore it's time to do some paperwork again. Our Carnet expires at the end of September and so we're thinking about how we will arrange this. We see on the back of the Carnet that we can extend it for three months and write an email to the RACB for some information. We can indeed prolong our Carnet but we must request this one month before the due date in the country where we are. Moreover, the extension only applies within that country. This means we have to rush to Indonesia because we don’t want to spend much time in Malaysia anymore. Unfortunately, we will have to skip the west coast, but on the other hand it rains here so much that this is not such a bad thing anyway.
We also send an email to Mr. Lim from Penang, this is the shipping agent that will arrange Mickey’s shipping to Indonesia. Surprisingly, we get a reply the next day and on August 13, our motorbike can already be loaded on the boat. We decide that we will be driving in one day to Penang, 700km further away.
