Back on the Trail :)
I'm finally back on the trail! Got held up in Quito longer than expected but all is good. Was about to over stay my Visa and moto permit so I extended them and it took over a week to get the customs document for the moto.
Departed Quito for Salinas on the 7th and didn't get far before the rain started. Went back over the pass near Chimborazo, very cold. Salinas was a nice town unfortunately it was raining so I didn't get to see much of it. Was planning on staying the next day and so some hiking, however the weather hadn't improved and it was cold, the hostel had no hot water, time to move on.

Rode to Cuenca on the 8th, raining all the way except for a short period which I took advantage of and got something to eat and drink.

When I arrived in Cuenca it was raining heavy and I was a bit confused as to where I should go, luckily a guy, Franklin, in a truck pulled up next to me and asked if I needed any help. Yes please, a hotel near the center. I followed him into town and he took me to a nice hotel, secure parking and lots of hot water. Franklin's a dual sport rider, KTM 950.
The next day Franklin came by the hotel and took me around the city, very nice place. Had a few beers and talked about motorcycles and adventure riding, great day! He stopped by later so I could meet his daughter and to say good bye.
Rode today from Cuenca to Loja on the PanAm, H35 and it was another rainy day. It started out great but it didn't take long to turn wet. I did get a short break and stopped for some water and to take a photo.

I saw today that my SPOT finally marked a location.
The rain and cold aren't the worst parts really, it's missing out on all the great scenery that gets to me. I was hoping to spend my last few days in Ecuador doing some hiking and taking photographs, oh well, Peru, here I come!!! I'll cross the border on Monday.
