Quilotoa

Rode to the mountain village of Quilota today. It's the rainy season here and the weather was not very cooperative. Lots of fog, clouds with light rain. When I departed Puerto Lopez it was muggy hot however it got cool rather quickly, 46 degrees. Of course I was to stubborn to stop and put on any warm cloths, just turned on the heated hand grips. I was shivering by the end of the ride.

The views must be amazing from here, I might ride this area again.

My home in Quilota:

A room with a wood stove! A young boy fetched some fire wood and then proceeded to light the fire. He left the room and then returned with a third of a liter of gas, oh no. He threw it on the wood and then waited. I took this opportunity to get my things away from the stove. He then threw a match in, holy crap, the stove actually moved and ashes filled the room. Didn't take long to get nice and warm though.

This little girl was walking by the hostel, she had someplace she really wanted to be. her father was working on a house 70 meters away and was calling to her to come back. She kept looking in the direction she wanted to go and wasn't to keen on listening to her father. It was 44 degrees.
