Decided to ride out to the coast and would be going past the Solar Museum so I stopped and took the tour this time. The last time I never paid to enter and missed out. In all fairness, I couldn't find anyone to take my entrance fee.
The GPS used was a Garmin:

Procedures. First you cut the head off then you skin it:

Next you boil the hide then sew the mouth shut. Once this is done you put a rock inside so it will keep it's shape and then place it in the sun to dry and shrink. Once completed you either wear it around your neck or put it on stick.

About twenty minutes from leaving the museum I hit rain. Had to stop multiple times mostly due to limited visibility because of the clouds.

One of the stops was amongst a rubber tree plantation.

It must take a long time to get a full bowl of rubber, I didn't witness any of the spouts drip.

If the weather had been nice I'm sure it would have been a very scenic ride to coast. The road twisted through the mountains and through small villages. Not the best time for weather in Ecuador.
