Iowa to Illinois
Country

I rode across to SOuth Dakato into Minnesota and then south into Iowa. The, American Pickers television show was one I enjoyed and after returning to the USA I see that it's still showing. I had to visit the store. It's to small stores, however they have some amazing items, motorcycles! I actually spent more time telling people about my journey than anythng else. It was enjoyable experience for sure.

Hello

Antique Archaeology, Le Claire, IA

Spent the night in Moline, IL and then, today, September 11, 2018 I visited the John Deere Plaza. Moline has a very rich history in farming as well as our civil war.

Hello

Hello

One of the first tractors built by the John Deere Co. No one knows exactly how many where built, but the number seems to be 90, however only two are known to exist now. It's an all wheel chain drive, three wheels, one rear, two front. The requirement for the fisrts tractor was, all wheel drive and it must not cost more than $700. The tractor was over engineered and some of the design features were ahead of their time, the end price was $1400. The company decided it was to expensive and after building 90 of them, stopped production, bought out Waterloo Boy Tractor and redesigned the John Deere. Legind says, of the 90 first John Deere tractors produced, 88 of them where purposely destroyed after the buy out. The two that didn't get destroyed were by mistake.

I've always been into tractors.

Hello

 Nothing runs like a Deere.
