Argentina to Chile

October 31, 2014:
Arrived in Mendoza on Friday and planned on staying a day or so and then crossing into Chile on Sunday. However, there was some sort of Chilean holiday and the city was full of people from Santiago and I was told it would be best to wait until Tuesday to cross the border, it would be busy. Just as well, the weekend was a little wet and cold so I just hung out and enjoyed the food and wine!

Just ahead is an entrance to a tunnel that was just over a mile in length. Somewhere in the tunnel is the border line between Argentina and Chile.

I got held up at toll both for :15, I didn't have any Chilean Peso's and they wouldn't let me pass. Finally one of the supervisors paid my toll, 600 pesos, $1. I arrived in Santiago around 5:30 pm.

A truly memorable ride day!

November 05, 2014:
Took the bike to dealership for servicing and should have it back Friday. Time for brakes, all fluids and I've go a couple rubber boots that are cracked. All in all the bike is running great though.
