Movin on!
I'm now in San Antonia del Tacharia, Venezuela, border town. Got some not so correct information before crossing the border and now I have to spend the night here. Everything is good however the office that does the documents for bringing the moto in and getting insurance is closed on Sundays. Everyone at the border was helpful and the police told me I could ride the bike to a hotel and come back in the morning. It was 09:00 and the two hotels I found wouldn't let me check in until 2 so I found a taxi stand that had a concrete bench and a shade tree, perfect. Took a nice nap and then lunch.
The road from Barrancabermeji to Bucaramanga was a nice ride and wasn't as warm as I expected. As soon as I departed Bucaramanga heading to Pamplona I started climbing again. Not sure what the altitude of B/manga is but at the top of the mountains the road is 11,300' and goes along the tops for an hours worth of riding. One of the best roads I've been on, incredible views! The road is twisty along with lots of truck traffic and construction however, it was a great run. Meet some other riders at a construction stop just out of B/manga that were going to Cucuta as well so we joined up. Stopped once for coffee and then again for lunch, great day!

Short story:
Arrived in Cucuta and found a hotel, Lady Di, nice place. Parking for the moto in the lobby, food close by along with a few places to get a beer. Was checking some things on the moto when a couple (man, woman) came in and wanted a room, maybe 5:30ish.
- The female clerk, Good evening, how long will you be staying,
- the man, one or two hours.
- clerk, ok that's fine, which is it? (very friendly)
- man, looking at the woman, what do you think?
- woman, one hour will be good
- man, yes, and then looking back at the clerk, thank you.
I thought, it must be a couple wanting to get a quick nap in before hitting the town, it was Saturday night after all. However, a bit strange though because she was dressed up and wearing lots of makeup, why would she want to take a nap? Anyway, it's nice that a hotel would accommodate this, what a good idea! The couple looked very happy and I wish them the best.
