No luck with the weather on the 6th or the 7th however, later in the afternoon on the 8th the sky started to clear.

I was amazed at how active it was: Every few seconds it would cough and throw ash in air:

Woke up early in hopes it was clear, no luck, the weather was overcast and looking like rain. Didn't feel like hanging out another day so I decided to head for Tena in the Amazonas region. i made it as far as Puyo, 56 miles, and the weather got bad. Found a nice place to stay and relaxed and watched some of the Olympics in Spanish.
The next morning the weather wasn't much better but I rode anyway. Did a short run to Tena and am now just hanging out. I'd like to do some fishing and this is a good place to get information. It's been raining a lot so I'm not sure how this is going to pan out.

Crossing a river a couple miles south of Tena I noticed some boats in the water. Gold dredgers:

Even with the not so good weather, I'm really enjoying Ecuador. It's my new favorite country!
