Leaving Guatemala

Departed Antigua this morning. Overcast and foggy however, it's cool and a nice day to ride!
The valcano's are hiding however I did get a photo of Agua when I was outside of Escuintla, very hazy but not a bad photo.

Stopped in Taxisco for breakfast, beans and meat, and then went into Cuilapa. A very short ride but a must do if you're in this area. Twisting road up into the mountains of which most is shaded by tree canopy with a few open areas to provide stopping spots and views. Cuilapa is considered the center of the America's. I took two photo's while standing in the center of town. Lots going on, not sure what, but lots.

The big building seemed to be the center of attention with people standing in line to get in. Most everyone in line was holding some paper but I wasn't able to figure out what it was all about. I think it was a political thing.

Crossed into El Salvador. Quite and experience there. Everything went good, it just took about two hours. Everyone was real friendly and like to joke and laugh. Strange thing though, they don't stamp your passport. The lady at the immigration office gave me a piece of paper for the moto and it was stamped, that's it. I was told I was good to go and ride on. Everyone even made motorcycle sounds and acted like they were popping a wheelie. I didn't get 25 meters and was stopped. The guy wanted something that I didn't have. Come to find out I didn't pay the import tax on the moto. So I went back and after about 45 min. I got the $10 tax paid, went back to the guy and everything was good and was told to enjoy El Salvador. This time I made it about 50 meters and was stopped by another agent. I showed him everything I had and he just shook his head told me to stay put and took the papers. 20 min. later he comes back, gives me my papers and tells me to go on my way. It was quite humorous.
The weather was getting worse, thunder and lighting, so I just went a few miles to Ahuachapan and got a room.
First impression of El Salvador, the people are very friendly and have a great sense of humor, men and women.
