Nicoya, CR
July 14, 2013
Spent the day on the motorcycle riding mostly dirt roads and trails. Dual sport bikes are popular here and I stopped often to chat with other riders. Great day! My spanish is improving. Plan on departing Nicoya tomorrow.
I had to take a photo of this. Strange, it was lunch time and I didn't see a single customer. Most likely they were all out saving a, transgender green sea turtle.
Goo Crunchy!

I'm hold up in Nicoya, attempting to teach myself some spanish. It's going good, only had to give myself detention one time so far so I decided to take myself on a field trip to the Barra Honda National Park. I've been hearing lots of howler monkeys however I've yet to see any and was told the park has many. The entrance fee includes guide service so this will be a great opportunity to practice some spanish.

Didn't take long to meet up with a group of Howler monkeys:

Even though they see people often, they don't like it when you get close:

White face monkey. These guys seemed a bit more curious and often followed us moving along the tree tops.

I thought they might be looking for a hand out but from what the guides told me, no one feeds them, they're just curious.
