Decided to hang out in South Africa for a bit longer to attend the Horizons Unlimited travel meeting being held at the Elgro River Lodge near Potchefstroom. The event went from the 12th to the 15th of November and then a group of us rode to Hazyview, near Kruger NP, and spent a few days doing day rides in the area.
The HU event and ride was a fantastic time, it was non stop fun and laughter from the start to the last, ride safe and see ya later.

Martin form Australia, doing a RTW in stages. One of his trips was riding across Russia, east to west.

Trevor with Kobus doing some work on his moto. Kobus is the owner of Elgro River Lodge and did a great job of hosting the event. He also did a presentation on one of his trips through Lesotho with some other riders. Wrong road, raining and lots of mud. A complete disaster, however listening to him tell the story had us laughing and wishing we'd been part of it. He's done the Cape Town to Cairo run and is planning on heading for North America in a year or so.

L-R, Garret, Kobus, Maria and Kevin:
Garret and Maria are from Wales and Garret gave a presentation on his ride through Southern Africa, on a 1951 Harley Davidson pan head. He rode that thing places I would have second thoughts on taking my GS. He put a whole new meaning to adventure riding.
Kevin's a South African transplant from the UK and has ridden through most of Europe.

Kruger NP, we saw the Big 5 within a few hours. I forgot to take a photo of the white rhino.

This guy saw me standing next to the moto and walked over to have a look. He seemed interested enough and let me put him on the seat. His expression never changed. His look and expression reminded me of a dairy farmer, nice rig but can it spread manure:

I'm currently in Hoedspruit, the front filling I had done in Maun came out and I had it fixed today. Tomorrow the plan is to get close to the Zimbabwe border and cross in on Wednesday.

To everyone I met at the HU meeting and those along on the ride after, thank you for such a great time. Kobus, I'll be back, thank you.
