Rode to the equator monument, Mitad del Mundo, in San Antonio de Pichincha, just a few miles north of Quito. The monument was supposedly built on the equator however it's location was discovered by the use of GPS to be more than 200 meters south of the true line.

This guy pulled up and we had someone new to pick on. An Italian from Venice on a moto he bought in Australia, doing a 42 month RTW. He'd been collecting thrown out tires, his rear tire was completely without tread. The moto had multiple issues but he didn't seem to mind, just happy to be traveling.
