January 23, 2016:
The plan was to make a short ride up to Fort Portal, spend the night and then maybe ride to the Kibale NP, chimpanzees live there.
Just north of Katunguru is the equator, one of those places you're obligated to stop and take a photo, rules are rules. There was a group of people there and everyone took a turn sitting on the moto. The lady sitting with me in the photo is a journalist with the Uganda National News and was traveling around the country with a film crew. They did a short interview with me and were on their way. I wasn't so fortunate, people driving past would see the moto, turn around, stop and ask to sit on the moto for a photo. After about a dozen more people I finally got the helmet on and was able to escape. The people here a very friendly.

I'm going to ask what they do with the horns, I haven't seen any being used that weren't still attached to a live cow.

Rode through some cotton fields and then into this village. They plant some sort of vine and then work it around the roof, nice!

This lady was very friendly, she stopped picking and approached me to show me how nice the cotton was. She was quite pleased to have me take her photo.

It was a short ride to Fort Portal so I decided to make a run out to Kibale NP and then make a plan. Turns out, it's only 20 miles on good dirt road to the NP. It's under construction and most of it's packed smooth, clay and wide. I turned off the ABS and throttled it, light traffic with just a few slow areas where construction was congested. Got to the NP and decided just to turn around and tear the road up again. It's a fun road!! For now anyway. I did inquire about the chimps, the best and almost only way you'll see them is to take a guided tour in an area with established trails and some viewing points. People have seen them next to the road however it's rare and it's crazy thick jungle. I didn't see any but then again I was feeling a bit Dakar! I did see a very large male baboon, I think he counts.
