End of the Year, 2015

December 18-19, 2015:
Went out to the island of Zanzibar on Dec 18 & 19, needed to get out of the city. Returned to Dar es Salaam on the 20th to apply for an East African VISA before Christmas holiday.

December 25, 2015:
Did a short ride from Dar to the small coastal village of Bagamoyo. Not much going on however it was nice to getting out of the city. Spent the afternoon and evening hanging out at the Funky Squids, a restaurant & bar on the beach. The owner is originally from Montreal.

Not sure what this was all about. A group of young men dancing up and down the beach to drums and tambourins.

Later in the evening a local group, one guitar and some drums played for the few of us that didn't have anywhere else to be. It was a very good evening!

This is were I flopped it, skid plate above the gages type flop over. I wasn't able to keep a line and it just slipped out from under me. It doesn't look like much of an uphill grade, and it wasn't, I'm standing at the top of the rise I was attempting to ride up. Luckily a man was walking down the hill just as I went over and helped me get it back on it's feet. The mud was so slippery I wasn't able to get the moto moving, rear tire was loaded and it was just spinning. Luckily another guy showed up and pushed to get me started, twice. A couple young boys had showed up to watch the show.

The rain was a welcoming event, people were swimming, doing laundry and watering cattle.
