Getting to Manaus
26 Novemeber 2013:
I got up early the next morning and rode the 30 min ride into Santana and my first impression was, this place is crazy disorganized. However, it didn't take but a few minutes and I found where the boats departed and in short time I had passage to Manaus. The first boat to Santarem would be leaving at 6 pm and then I would change boats there and go to Manaus. From what I gathered there are three boats a week to Santarem from Santana, glad it worked out so well. I really didn't see much worth hanging around the area to see or do.

My boat: I arrived early however I was told to stow my gear in my cabin and put the moto near the load ramp. Yes, I opted for a private cabin.

I wasn't sure what this boat was used for, but when this lady spoke, the little guy driving did as he was told.
