El Salvador
I spent the day just riding slow on back roads and meeting people. Didn't take many photo's, just rode and visited. The weather was very hit or miss and I had to stop because of rain often. It was still a great day for riding. When I stop I often get out my map and start asking directions, even if I know where I am and where I'm going, everyone seems to like being involved and I usually get some good information.
Went to Lake Coatepeque which is in a dormant volcano and has an island in it. It was nice viewing into it however, it's so built up that when you get down near the lake you rarely can see it. Private property with high security fences.

This road goes about a quarter of the way around the east side of the lake. Stopped for some water and mark it with my SPOT, didn't mark. Went another 50 meters and I ran out of road. Turned into a foot path down a rock ledge.

It was thundering but not raining so I decided to head for the Cerro Verde lookout for a view of Volcano Izalco . By the time I got there the weather had gotten worse, thunder, lighting and then it started raining. I paid $4 dollars to get to the lookout and wanted to see the volcano. There was a couple ladies selling mango's and cucumbers so I hung out under their tarp while it rained. An hour and a half later it stopped raining but there was no visibility.
Waiting on the rain.

Decided to ride into Sonsonate and find a place to stay. Took my time, stopped and visited a lot. This area is really beautiful country.
A small sugar cane village.

Not sure what I will do tomorrow. With the weather being so uncooperative for
volcano viewing I might head to the beach and relax for a day or two. Ok, I'll be honest, I really haven't done anything so stressful as to warrant the need to relax.
