Peninsula del Osa

July 17, 2013
Took a ride out to Carate, Osa Peninsula road, and back. Dirt road with six or seven water crossings, nothing technical but lots of fun! It was hit and miss with the rain all day and I didn't stop for photo's much. I was having to much fun riding anyway!
When I got back out on the main highway that leads to Panama I met a guy, Miguel, on GSA coming out of Venezuela making a mad run for Miami. A vacation present to himself. He's going to fly him and the bike from Miami to Colombia and then ride it home. Got lots of good information from him.
The road from Ciudad Nelly to San Vito was a spectacular ride up into the mountains. It was raining off an on and with the clouds and fog it was difficult to get a view however, every once in awhile it would open up briefly. This area is amazing.
I deleted todays photo's, damn. I found the some photo's, couple days late, but.

Stopped for the night at the, Mirador Cabins near Mogos on the Osa peninsula. The cabins are located on top of a mountain and have a view overlooking a valley. Lots of fruit and nut trees for the wildlife and it's located adjacent to primary forest. Excellent place to stay. I saw a white nosed coati, an agouti, along with lots of toucans and parrots.
I woke up early and watched the sunrise over the mountains from my bed.
