The weather was good so I took a ride back out to Valle de Cocora. Supposedly the Wax Palms that grow here are the tallest in the world. One of the trees is more that 60 meters in height.

There are some good hiking trails in the area and decided I would return the next day. Wasn't dressed for hiking.

Even the birds keep their house's nice:

I had meet a couple riding Suzuki 650's in Valle de Leyva from the Netherlands and met up with them again here. We went out to dinner and then to a bar called Los Amigos. The bar is known for a local game they play called there, tejos. It's kind of like horse shoes, there are two pits and two teams, usually three players per team. Inside the pit is a metal ring set in the clay with folder paper triangles that contain black powder placed around it, normally four triangles. You toss a rock at the papers and if you hit one just right, it explodes. The team that gets a rock closest to the paper gets one point, if you explode one, that team gets three points.

It's a bit difficult to get one of the papers to explode and one of the teams next to us got two to explode in two toss's. They got the trophy, it gets passed around to anyone that explodes one, and I had them pose for a photo. After awhile the game just turned into everyone throwing rocks at close distance just to get one to explode. What a good time!
